Workshops

We will deliver workshops for your school, district, or county for staff, student groups, or buy-back days. We've made the most impact when workshops are planned on an ongoing basis to support a long-term technology vision.

Site-Based Professional Development Services

Site-based professional development through MentorToGo is ideal because it is:

Customized
Customizing your professional development zeroes in on your standards-based curriculum and shortens the amount of time needed for the training because the participants have a common goal. Teachers don’t have to spend additional time after class to adapt the material to their classroom because they learn the skills while working on projects for their curriculum. They appreciate the workshops because they are based on their needs and “make it—take it” in nature.

Cohesive & Ongoing
When the content has been planned customized by the same presenter, the content is cohesive and skills can be taught progressively. The group can track their progress on the CTAP2 Proficiencies that are being adopted as part of any funding. Participants know that they will have ongoing support because they know we’ll be back.

Collaborative
When teachers at the same site focused on the same content and technology skills, there is opportunity for collaboration and the sharing of resources. The product is richer and there is buy-in from the beginning. Many hands make lighter work.

Community-building
When everyone is working on technology, it becomes a community-building activity. Everyone is part of creating technology resources, not the lone early adopter who shoulders the responsibility in addition to their teaching duties. There is more equal access to training and materials.

Convenient
You just can’t beat the convenience of having the workshop at your own school site. Forget about traffic, parking, and checking in. Workshops can be scheduled around in-service days, early release days, rotating subs, and collaboration periods.

Comfortable
The learning environment is more comfortable when it’s in a familiar location and you’re taking a class with people you know. The workshops are hands-on, low-pressure and informal to invite questions and active participation. There’s also a built-in support after the workshop because others at the site took the same workshop.

Cost-effective
It is more cost-effective to have a workshop at your school site if you have five or more participants. Additional savings are realized when you factor in the cost of travel.

District-Wide Professional Development Services

There are many advantages to contracting us to provide District-wide professional development workshops. Here are some possibilities:
- Schedule grade-level specific workshops at rotating venues
- Plan and provide customized curriculum-based, tech-supported workshops that are ongoing, centered around a district need or CTAP2 Technology Proficiency Area
- Provide technology workshops for Administrators

County or Regional Workshops

Why reinvent the wheel?
You can increase the number and variety of professional development workshops offered in your County or Region by contracting MentorToGo Vision Planning Partner to provide workshops.
Pay only for the workshop, no development time, if you select workshops that have previously been presented or require minor customization.

Trainer of Trainers

We are experienced Trainer of Trainer workshop facilitators, both in the area of planning and presentation.
